Organic Marketing Isn’t Dead.
Sound Familiar?
Your website is sitting there, your Instagram is gathering dust, and somewhere between running your business and living your life, your online presence got left behind.
You don’t need a bigger budget or a viral moment. You need a solid digital foundation — one that works for you around the clock, speaks to the right people, and actually shows up when your dream clients go looking.
I’m Marisa Robinson, a digital marketing specialist with over 15 years of experience helping small businesses across Sydney, Wollongong and the Illawarra get visible, get found, and get results — organically.
Hi, I’m Marisa
and I’m willing to bet that you’re brilliant at what you do, but the digital side of your business feels like a completely different language.
Maybe you’ve cobbled together a website, posted on Instagram when you remember, and Googled ‘how to get more clients online’ more times than you’d like to admit. Or maybe you’re so deep in the day-to-day of running your business that marketing is always the thing that gets pushed to tomorrow.
That’s exactly where I come in.
I’ve spent over 15 years in digital marketing — starting in corporate roles before going out on my own in 2015 to work with small and medium businesses across the Illawarra and beyond. I became a freelancer because I wanted to work with people who are genuinely passionate about what they do, and who deserve to be found by the people who need them most.
I work as a natural extension of your team — which means I take the time to understand your business, your vibe, and your goals before I touch a single thing. No cookie-cutter strategies. No jargon. Just clear, practical marketing that sounds like you and works for the people you’re trying to reach.
I’m based in Wollongong and I’m especially passionate about supporting women in business across our region. Because honestly? There is so much incredible talent in this community and too many brilliant businesses that are invisible online.
Let’s change that.
What’s On My Services Playlist
-
Digital Marketing Strategy
Not sure where to start or what to focus on? I’ll build you a clear, actionable digital marketing plan tailored to your business goals — one your team can actually execute without needing a marketing degree to understand it. Think of it as your roadmap for getting found, building trust, and turning browsers into buyers.
-
Website Design
Your website is your most hardworking team member — it should be doing the heavy lifting 24 hours a day. I design and build beautiful, SEO-optimised websites on Squarespace that not only look the part but are set up to convert visitors into enquiries. And the best part? Once it’s done, I’ll hand it back to you knowing you can update it yourself, without needing to call a developer every time something changes.
-
Email Marketing & Automations
Email is still one of the highest-converting marketing channels out there — when it’s done right. I write, design and schedule email newsletters and automations that keep your audience warm, nurture new leads, and support your launches and promotions. You brief me, give me access to your assets, and I’ll take it from there.
-
Social Media Strategy
Posting into the void and wondering why nothing’s happening? A social media strategy gives your content direction and purpose. I’ll help you figure out what to say, how to say it, and how to show up consistently in a way that actually grows your audience and builds real connection with the people who matter most to your business.
-
SEO & AI Optimisation
If your website isn’t showing up in Google search results or AI Overviews you’re invisible to the people who are actively looking for what you offer. I optimise your website and content to improve your organic rankings on search engines and increase your chances of being cited by AI tools, so you’re getting found by the right people at exactly the right moment.

Workshops
Ready to take the reins on your own marketing but don’t know where to start? My hands-on workshops and group coaching sessions are designed for small business owners who want practical skills they can apply immediately — minus the tech overwhelm. We cover everything from Instagram and content strategy to SEO basics and how to actually use AI as a business tool. Delivered in plain English, no jargon required.
“I’d absolutely recommend Marisa, especially to small business owners who are amazing at what they do but feel overwhelmed by the digital and marketing side of things. She makes everything feel approachable, easy to understand and personalised instead of cookie-cutter.”

Online Glow-Up
Jessica at JBH Aesthetics had been paying for a marketing agency that was delivering basic social media management and very little else. Despite months of asking, something as fundamental as their Instagram Shop hadn’t been set up correctly. Marisa had it fixed within 24 hours of coming on board.
From there, the scope of work grew to match the business’s ambitions — a full website redesign, a revamped online shop, stronger SEO, and detailed treatment and skin condition content that serves both patients looking for answers and the business’s visibility in search.
Ongoing support now includes monthly newsletters, email marketing campaigns, promotional strategy, online sales support and Google — with fresh ideas and practical solutions at every touchpoint.
The result is a stronger, more professional and more visible brand — and a business owner who now has a genuine expert in her corner rather than an agency collecting a retainer.

Trusted Long-Term Partnership
Some of my favourite client relationships have been the long ones. Dr Renée Otmar first came to me to refresh her website and set up her online store, and we’ve been working together for seven years since. Over that time I’ve helped her navigate hosting changes, refresh her offerings as her business evolved, and build a site that truly reflects her ethos — one she can easily manage herself between our check-ins.
-

Stronger Digital Foundations
Alyce knows her stuff when it comes to fitness, but the behind-the-scenes digital side of her business felt completely foreign. Together we built out her sales pages, email automations, cleaned up her overall digital flow, and gave her content direction for social media — all while making sure everything still felt like her. The result? A more professional, organised presence that gave her real confidence moving forward.

Woven Into the Business
Robyn Cosgrove designs exquisite custom rugs — the kind of work that deserves to be seen in all its detail. When she first came to me in 2020, her website told a different story. Like so many small business owners at the time, she was dependent on a developer for every update and change, with very little control over how her work was presented to the world.
I rebuilt her site on Squarespace with a design as considered as her rugs — stylish, user-friendly and inviting. Her collections were uploaded and displayed beautifully, with zoom functionality so clients could appreciate every texture and detail up close.
Over the years the site has evolved alongside the business — refreshed, updated and expanded as Robyn’s collections have grown — but it has always stayed true to the same principles: elegant, easy to navigate, and reflective of the quality of her craft.
I’ve also supported her with email and SMS marketing, content creation and the management of her Instagram account, becoming a natural extension of her small team. Robyn still has me make updates and changes so she can stay focused on what she does best — designing beautiful rugs. That’s exactly how it should be.

From Frustrated to Functional
Vivien came to me with a website that needed some TLC - the page layouts weren’t user friendly, the site was not optimised for SEO, and it did not reflect the level of her practice. I redesigned her website in Squarespace, giving her a site that’s beautiful, user-friendly, set up properly for SEO with the goal of generating new enquiries and leads. She also left with the knowledge and skills to maintain it herself, so she’s never dependent on a developer again.

Prescription for Better SEO
When Richard Banks Optometrist came to me in 2019, their website was hard-coded — meaning every small update required a developer and nothing could be changed easily inhouse. The design had also fallen behind the times. What they needed was a site that looked the part, reflected the quality of their practice, and gave them back ownership of their own online presence.
I redesigned and rebuilt the entire site on Squarespace — giving the team a modern, user-friendly website they could update and add new content to themselves, without touching a line of code. No more waiting on a developer to make a simple text change or add a new article.
In phase two, the focus shifted to organic visibility. I built out dedicated landing pages for the designer eyewear and sunglasses brands stocked in-store — researching and compiling brand information, writing the copy, and optimising every page for search. The goal was simple: when someone in Australia searches for a specific frames brand, RB Optom should show up as a stockist. Analytics since confirm these pages are doing exactly that, generating new organic traffic that wasn’t there before.
I’ve also supported their email marketing throughout our relationship — starting in Mailchimp and transitioning across to Squarespace Email Campaigns as their platform evolved. It’s been a long-term partnership built on trust, and one I’m proud to still be a part of.

End-to-End Campaign Support
When a client has a promotion or launch coming up, the digital pieces need to work together seamlessly — landing pages, email sequences, automations, social media strategy. I work alongside business owners to make sure every touchpoint is in place before they go live, so the launch has the best possible chance of converting. No scrambling. No gaps. Just a coordinated digital campaign that supports the work they’ve already put in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — and honestly, neither should you. Every business is different, and I want to make sure that whatever I propose actually supports your goals, rather than signing you up for a package that’s 80% things you don’t need. That’s why I love hopping on a discovery call first. It’s a chance for me to understand your business, your aspirations and where you’re at — so what I put together is tailored specifically to you.
-
Paid advertising — like Meta Ads and Google Ads — isn’t my area of focus. My expertise is organic marketing: getting your business found and building your audience without relying on ad spend. That said, I have trusted specialists in my network who are brilliant at paid ads, and I’m happy to connect you with the right person if that’s something you’re looking to explore.
-
All my work is completed remotely, and honestly, the technology we have access to these days makes that really easy — we can stay beautifully connected via email, voice notes and Zoom calls. That said, nothing replaces a real human connection, and if you’re local to the Illawarra and you’d feel more comfortable having an initial chat over a chai, let me know and we can absolutely make that happen.
-
Yes — and I’m a big believer in using it as a tool, not a replacement. AI can speed things up and is genuinely helpful for certain tasks, but it doesn’t replace the 15 years of knowledge, strategy and lived experience I bring to every client relationship. There is and always will be a very human touch to the way I work. My clients hire me for my thinking, my instincts and the relationship we build — not for something they could generate in 30 seconds.
-
This is the most common thing I hear. You started out doing everything yourself because it was the only option, but now your business has grown and your marketing has become the thing that always gets pushed to tomorrow. The best place to start is a discovery call — we’ll talk through where you’re at, what’s working and what isn’t, and figure out the most impactful place to focus first. Sometimes it’s one small shift that makes a big difference.
-
More than okay — that’s exactly who I love working with. I’ve spent 15 years translating the digital world into plain English for business owners who are brilliant at their craft but don’t speak marketing. You don’t need to know any of it. That’s my job. You focus on the work you love, and I’ll handle making sure the right people can find you.
-
Glad you asked. ‘New Love’ by Ziggy Alberts has been on high rotation, and I’ve been revisiting ‘In Our Own Sweet Time’ by Vance Joy a lot lately. Good music makes for good work — that’s on the record.
-
Book a discovery call and find out. It’s free, there’s no pressure, and at the very least you’ll walk away with some clarity about where your marketing is at. If we’re a good fit, I’ll tell you. And if I’m not the right person for what you need, I’ll tell you that too and point you in the right direction.

You’ve spent long enough doing this on your own. Whether you need someone to take the whole thing off your plate, a strategy that gives you direction, or a workshop that finally makes the digital world click — let’s find the right fit for where you’re at.
Book a free 30-minute discovery call and let’s talk about your business. No sales pitch, no pressure — just a conversation about where you want to go and how we might get there together.
